Meet Natashya

Natashya primarily works with acrylic, oil and watercolor paints but enjoys experimenting with various mediums to bring concepts to life. She is drawn to vibrant colors; exploring different subjects from architecture and interiors to animals in her pieces.  Natashya is a self-taught painter based out of Chicago. She began cultivating her painting skills at a young age. Through college and her early career years, she created sporadically but it was during the stillness of the pandemic that Natashya really re-connected with her love of painting.

Since beginning her art practice in 2020, Natashya has completed several private watercolor commissions and created two original pieces for a small healthcare business in celebration of National Minority Health Month. Her work has also been featured in group exhibitions across Chicago.

Natashya is of Southeast Asian descent with roots in Sri-Lanka and was born in the United Arab Emirates.  She immigrated to the U.S. with her family when she was eleven. Her journey from her multicultural upbringing to immigration has been woven with threads of curiosity, adaptability, and resilience. These attributes have served her well in her artistic pursuits and otherwise.
